a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born September 13, 1754, at Bielefeld. He studied at Halle, was preacher there in 1779, magister in 1780, professor of theology in 1791, and died December 6, 1805. He. wrote, De Factis Ejus Diei, quo Christus e Mortuis Resurrexit (Halle, 1780): — Anfangsgrunde der hebraischen Sprache (ibid. 1782; 2d ed. 1791): — Entwurf zur Einleitung in's Alte Testament (ibid. 1787): — Kurze Uebersicht der vorzuglichsten Materien, etc.; (ibid. 1804).
