a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born December 5, 1811, at Rostock. From 1836 to 1846 he was pastor at Molin, and afterwards at Schwarzenbach, where he died, November 9, 1882. He wrote, Ueber die vornehmsten Einwurfe wider das Werk der Bibelverbreitung (Schonberg, 1839): — Festpredigten (Luneburg, 1841): — Das gute Recht unserer kirchlichen Symbole (Leipsic, 1851): — Erklarung des kleinen Katechismus Martin Luthers (4th ed.
