Feuardent, Francois
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a French controversialist, a member of the order of the Discalceati (q.v.), and doctor of the Paris University, was born at Coutances, December 1, 1539. In 1576 he was made doctor of theology, and died, guardian of the monastery at Bayeux, January 1, 1610. He was a severe opponent of the Protestants, and a sort of Ishmael against his own co-religionists, when they differed from him. He wrote, Theomachia Calvinistica: — Divins Opuscules et Exerciaes Spirituels de S.
