Dresde, Friedrich Wilhelm
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born at Naumburg, March 4, 1740; studied at Leipsic; was in 1772 appointed professor of Oriental languages at Wittenberg, and in 1778 professor of theology there; and died March 10, 1805, leaving, De Immortalitate Animae, Patriarchis non Ignota (Leipsic, 1764): — De Anno Judaico (ibid. 1766): — Votum Jephthae (ibid. 1767): — Triga Commentationum Acadd.
