Davies, John (7),
a Welsh Congregational minister, was born at Esgerfynwent, Carmarthenshire, in 1799. He was converted at the age of ten; studied six years at Carmarthen College, beginning in 1819, suppling, meanwhile, several vacant churches; was ordained in 1826, at Summerfield Chapel, Neath, Glamorganshire; resigned in 1838, but continued to preach at various places to the time of his death, August 3, 1862.
