an Italian painter, was born at Lugano in 1648, and studied under Cavaliere Cairo and Ercole Procaccini at Milan. He became a painter of eminence, and executed many works for the churches and convents at Milan and Venice. In the Church of San Silvestro, in Venice, is a Nativity by this artist, which is especially commended. He died about 1730. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.; Spooner, Biog.
