an English minister of the Society of Friends, was born in Bedfordshire in 1617. After being a justice of the peace, he joined the Friends about 1654; preached in Bedfordshire and:the neighboring counties; suffered imprisonment in London, Huntingdon, Aylesbury, and Ipswich; afterwards itinerated in Hertfordshire, and died February 26, 1699.
