a Swiss Protestant theologian, was born at Ellg, near Zurich, January 24, 1673. After having travelled in Germany, France, Holland, and England, he was successively professor of Hebrew at. Zurich and of theology at Herborn. He died at Zurich, February 9, 1702, leaving, Theologia Israelis (Frankfort, 1705): — Commentarius Posthumus in Codicem Succah (Utrecht, 1720): — some dissertations, the most interesting of which are published under the title, De Ara Exteriore Templi Secundi (1697).
