a Presbyterian minister, was born at Morristown, N.J., March 6, 1772. He graduated at Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania, in 1808; studied theology under private instructors, teaching school in the meantime, and was licensed by the Presbytery of Ohio, October 17 1811. The first year of his labor was spent as a missionary. In 1812 he went to Sandy Creek, and after preaching for some time in various churches, accepted calls from the congregations of Fairfieldand Big Sugar Creek. His ordination took place November 8, 1814. In 1827 he accepted a call from Georgetown, Ohio; was afterwards installed over the congregation of Amity; in 1829 accepted a call from Cool Spring for one third of his time; and in this united charge Fairfield, Georgetown, Cool Spring labored till his death in 1836.
