Conceptione (or Concezione), Maria Crucifixa

an Italian nun, was born in Sicily in 1645. She entered the Benedictine convent of St. Rosaire at Palma, took the vows in 1662, and died in 1699, leaving, Della Orribile Brutezza dell' Anima d'un Sacerdote, etc. (Rome, 1672; Palermo, 1675, without the name of the author, and in 1695 with her name): Scielta di Lettera Spirituali (Girgenti, 1704); and various other writings which are found in her Life, by Jerome Turanus.
