an English Congregational minister, was born at Lostwithiel, Cornwall, February 8, 1797. He joined the Church in early manhood; received his ministerial training at Hackney Academy; began his ministry at Witney, Oxfordshire; and finally settled at Dawlish, on the south coast of Devon, in 1824. In June, 1866, Mr. Collett resigned his pulpit, but continued to reside among the scenes of his lifelong labors, beloved by all who knew him, until his death, June 10, 1869. See (Lond.) Cong.
