a Presbyterian minister, was born in Delaware. He spent over two years (1824, 1825) in Princeton Theological Seminary, and was then ordained by the Presbytery of Gallipolis, Ohio. He was in 1830 and 1831 stated supply for a church in New Richmond; labored as missionary in Ohio in 1832 and 1833; was pastor in Augusta, Kentucky, in 1836, for a Congregational Church; agent for the American Bible Society, St. Louis, Missouri, from 1855 until his death, July 18, 1870.
