Clouet (Or Clowet), Peter,
a Belgian engraver, was born at Antwerp in 1606, and studied under Spierre and Bloemaert at Rome. The following are his principal works: The Descent from the Cross; The Virgin Suckling the Infant Jesus; St. Michael Discomfiting the Evil Spirit. He died at Antwerp in 1668. See Spooner, Biog.
