a French theologian, was born at Ornans-sur-le-Loue (Franlche-Comte). He entered the order of, the Jesuits in 1612, and taught rhetoric at Lyons, then at Dole. He was sent .to Spain, where he was professor of polite literature, spending his leisure hours in the study of theology and archaeology. He died at Madrid in 1642, leaving, Clemens IV, etc. (Lyons, 1623, 1624, 12mo.): Bibliothieca Lugdunensis, etc. (ibid.: 1628, 8vo: Bibliotheca Escuirialis (ibid. 1635, 4to): Chronological Tables of Spanish History (in Spanish.
