a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born at Greifenberg, in Pomerania, December 25, 1610. He studied at different universities, and was for some time professor of theology at Giessen. In 1652 he took the degree of doctor of divinity, went in 1659 as superintendent to St. Goar, but in 1681 returned again to Giessen, where he died, February 13, 1688.
