a French engraver, was born at Blois. in 1680, studied under Pierre Duret and Gerard Audran, was admitted to the French Academy in 1718, became engraver to the king, and died at Paris April 15, 1729.' Among his numerous works, two of the best are, St. John in the Desert, after Raphael; and St. :Ccecilia, after Mignard. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.; Spooner, Biog.
