a Protestant Episcopal clergyman, was born in 1808 at Somers, Conn. lie practiced law for six years, entered the ministry in 1838, and was rector of the Church in South Glastonbury for several years, until about 1856; subsequently he removed to Hartford, to devote himself more especially to literary work, and died there, July 9, 1858. He wrote several works, among them, The Primitive Church (1845): Gospel Truth (1847): besides numerous pamphlets and contributions to periodicals. See Prot. Episc.
