a Protestant theologian of Germany, was born Jan. 19, 1819, at Schleswig. He studied at Kiel; was in 1849 deacon at St. John's, in Flensburg; in 1851, pastor primarits and provost at Husum; and died April 9, 1879. He wrote, Das Symbolum Apostolicum mein Beichtbü chlein (Stutgard, 1857): — Diaspora Gedanken aus der Schrift (ibid. 1858): — Christi Fussstapfen (Leipsic, 1861-63; Engl. transl.
