a Presbyterian minister, was born in Rowan County N.C., Oct. 26, 1793. He was educated at Hampden-Sidney College, Va., and New Jersey College; and graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1820. He was licensed by the New Brunswick Presbytery in the same year; became pastor of Bethel and the adjoining churches in Guilford County, N.C.; of Alamance Church, one of these, for over forty years, resigning in 1861; and died near Greensboro, N.C., Nov. 24,1865.
