a Baptist minister, was born at Moorefield, Hardy Co., Va. He graduated at Union College in 1829, and from the Newton Institution in 1832; was ordained at Newton, Sept. 20 of the same year, and went-to Ohio, where he was pastor of the Church at Granville, and then of the Church at Akron. Subsequently he was secretary of the Ohio Education Society, and afterwards acted as an agent to raise funds for Granville College, now Denison University. He died at Granville, July 24, 1864.
