an eminent Genoese painter, was born in 1594, and studied under Passignani. He executed several great works at Genoa, in connection with his brother, the principal of which were the fresco paintings in the three naves of the Cathedral of the Guastato. In the principal nave are: The Adoration of the Magi; The Entrance of Christ into Jerusalem; The Resurrection; The Ascension; The Descent of the Holy Ghost; and The Assumption. For the same church he also painted The Presentation in the Temple, and Christ Preaching to the Pharisees. He died in 1680. See Spooner, Biog. Hist. of the Fine Arts, s.v.; Hoefer, Nouv. Biog.
