Capharetaea,
a village of Samaria, the native place of the heretic Menander, according to Justin Martyr (Καππαρεταϊ vα, Apol. 2), but Eusebius (Ecct. Hist. 3:26) cites the name somewhat differently (Καπαρατταία ), and Theodoret (Compend. Haeret. Fab. 2) has Chabrae (Χαβρα῏῏῏ϊ v ); so that the place is altogether doubtful.
