a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born at Paris, Me., about 1810. He was converted in early life, and in 1832 entered the Maine Conference, in which he labored until his death, Dec. 1, 1842. Mr. Caldwell was friendly in disposition, of great intellectual activity, a fluent speaker, strikingly original, sound in doctrine, and eminently pious.
