Burwell, W.F.
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
or a Baptist minister, was born in Pennsylvania in 1841. He was baptized at the age of fifteen, and united with the Monongahela Union Church. He was licensed to preach June 1, 1866. After preaching temporarily in several churches, he was ordained Aug. 5, 1867, as pastor of the Greensborough and Beulah churches. His connection with these continued for some time, and then he devoted himself to the Greensborough Church, being its pastor for five years. After his resignation, he was pastor or supply of the Goshen, Zoar, Forks of Cheat, and Monongahela Union churches-the latter as pastor, for four years. For one year he served as financial agent for Monongahela College. He died in Dunkard township, Greene Co., Pa., March 12, 1881. See National Baptist, March 24, 1881. (J. C. S.)
