an English Nonconformist divine, was entered at Oxford in 1611. Or receiving orders he was presented to the rectory of St Magnus, London - bridge, and received the living of Watford, in Hertfordshire. in 1618. He was one of the chaplains in ordinary to Charles I, in the beginning of his reign, but afterwards became an adherent to the principles which resulted in the overthrow of that monarch. He became lecturer in St. Paul's, with a salary of four hundred pounds and the dean's house for a residence; but at the restoration he lost all his property, and died in extreme poverty, June 9,1665.
