a minister of the Church of England, who died as pastor of Christ Church at London, Nov. 21, 1836, is the author of The Scripture Expositor: a New Commentary, Crit. and Prac., on the Holy Bible (Lond. 1809):-Oriental Literature applied to the Illustration of the Sacred Scriptures, especially with reference to Antiquities, Traditions, Manners, etc. (ibid. 1822, 2 vols.):-Oriental Customs; or, An Illustration of the Holy Scriptures by an Explanatory Application of the Customs and Manners of the Eastern Nations, and especially of the Jews, etc. (ibid. 1839, and later).
