an English Congregational minister, was born in Edinburgh, August 21, 1797. In early manhood he removed to London, was there converted, and offered his services to the Irish Evangelical Society. He studied three years at their academy in Dublin, and in 1821 was given a charge at Kilmainham. Thence he removed to Limerick, where for six years he labored very abundantly as an assistant. Between 1830 and 1841 he preached successively at, Birr, Newry, Carrickfergus, and Limerick, when he returned to England. He next preached three years in Lincoln, and then went to Leeds, where he became chaplain to the Cemetery, in which office he continued until his death, July 25, 1860. See (Lond.) Cong.
