a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born at Martinsburg, Virginia, December 19, 1808. He experienced conversion in 1824, soon after was licensed to exhort, then to preach, and in 1833 united with the Baltimore Conference. He died in Washington, D.C., January 17, I869. Mr. Brown's endowments were of a high order. He was strong in mind, diligent in study, earliest and impressive in manner, fearless in utterance; genial, witty, and even playful.
