a Presbyterian minister, was born at Westmoreland, N.Y., August 20, 1805. He graduated at Union College in 1828, and at Yale Divinity School in 1833; was licensed by the Association of the Western District of New Haven County, and ordained evangelist by the Presbytery of Kaskaskia, September 15, 1833. He became supply pastor at Collinsville, Illinois (1833-34), and Akron, Ohio; principal of Cuyahoga Falls Institute, 1837- 40; teacher at: Lakeport, N.Y., 1840-41 supply pastor at Niagara and Pendleton, 1841-46; at Gosport, 1846-47; at.Carlton and Kendall, 1848- 53; and principal of academy at Lawrenceville, Pa., where he died, Feb. 2, 1854.
