Brookins, Calvin
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Fulton County, N.Y.; January 5, 1827. He was converted in 1841, and united with the Baptist Church, but at the end of a year changed his membership to the Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1851 he was licensed to preach, and removed to De Kalb, Illinois, in 1854. He joined the Rock River Conference in 1855, from which he received the following appointments: Grove Circuit, Richmond, Rochelle, Lee Centre, superannuate one year, De Kalb, Richmond, Woodstock, Polo, Fulton, Warren, and Yorkville. He again became superannuated in 1879, continuing in that relation until his death, which occurred Sept. 25, 1881. He was a good man, and a faithful and affectionate pastor.
