Bremer, Friedrich
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a Roman Catholic theologian of Bavaria, was born at Bamberg, January 10, 1784. In 1807 he took holy orders, and in 1808 received the degree of doctor of theology. In 1813 he was appointed subdirector of the clerical seminary at Bamberg, and in 1820 its director, at the same time occupying then chair of dogmatics at the lyceum there. In 1821 he became a member of the newly founded chapter, in 1844 its dean, and died August 20, 1846. He wrote, Versuch einer historisch-philosophischen Darstellung der Offenbarung (1810): — Katholische Dogmatik (1815-17, and often, 3 volumes): — Geschichtliche Darstellung der Verrichtung and Ausspendung der Sacramente (1818-24, 3 volumes): — Das Gericht, etc. (1829).
