a Protestant theologian of Germany, was born March 10, 1810, at Leipsic, where he also studied under G. Hermann and Wiener. In 1852 his alma mater conferred on him the degree of doctor of divinity, and in the same year he was called as member of consistory and general superintendent to Altenburg, when he died April 29, 1879.
