a Roman Catholic priest, was born in Ardagh, County Lougford, Ireland, in 1826. He emigrated to the United States early in life, completed his ecclesiastical studies at St. Joseph's Seminary, Fordham, N. Y., and in 1854 was ordained priest and pastor of St. Mary's Church. In 1863 he was installed pastor over St. Teresa's parish, New York city, and by his zeal made it one of the best in the city. He founded a parochial school for boys in Rutgers street, and established a convent for girls, under the direction of the Ursuline nuns, in Henry street. He died July 9, 1876.
