a French prelate, was the son of John I, duke of Bourbon, and gave to his nephew, Charles of Bourbon, the abbey of St. Vaast of Arras and the archbishopric of Lyons, to which positions he had been appointed. He was one of the most distinguished prelates of. his time, and enriched the library of Cluny, founded hospitals, and built churches. He also rendered important service to the state.
