Borein, Peter Ruble
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Washington County, East Tenn., Nov. 17, 1809. He experienced religion when about twelve years of age, and was distinguished during childhood and youth for his amiable and affectionate disposition and exemplary filial obedience. Having moved to Illinois, in 1830 he entered the Illinois College at Jacksonville, and on leaving college was licensed to preach, and entered the Illinois Conference in 1833. He continued his labors faithfully and with great success until his death, Aug. 15, 1838. Mr. Borein was engaging and delightful in person, manners, and public exercises.
