a French theologian, was born at Riom, in Auvergne, in 1600. He entered the Jesuit order at the age of eighteen, and having taught classics for four years, he consecrated the remainder of his life to the instruction of domestics and indigent youth. He died at Paris, March 19, 1653. He wrote a great number of spiritual works, of which the principal ones are, Le Chretien Charitable (Paris, 1637, 1639): — Abrige de la Doctrine Chretienne, etc. (ibid. 1640, 1653): — Le Deivot Paroissien (2d ed. ibid. 1643): — Les Douze Partes de la Bienheureuse Eterniie (ibid. 1644, 1646).
