a German Reformed minister, was born Dec. 14, 1736, in Graps, in the province of Werdenberg, belonging to the canton of Glaris, being a son of the Rev. John Blumer of Switzerland. He took a course of study at Basle, and was ordained in 1756. In 1757 he received a call as chaplain to a Swiss regiment, which office he continued to fill until 1766. He came to this country in 1771, and soon after took charge of four congregations in Pennsylvania, where he labored thirty years. He died April 23, 1822. See Harbaugh, Fathers of the Germ. Ref.
