a famous Italian canonist, was born at Bologna in 1474, where he also died as professor of canon law, Sept. 13, 1554. Among his pupils were the popes Pius IV and Gregory XIII. Panziroli calls him "monarcha legum," but also "vir fuit magis laboriosus quam subtilis." He wrote, Lecturce sive Commentaria in 1, 2, 3 et 5 Libr. Decretalium: -Questiones, Responlsa et Consilia.
