a Protestant theologian of Germany, was born July 3, 1756, at Annaberg. In 1783 he was called as rector of the gymnasium at Torgau.; and in 1814 to the same position in his native city, where he died, Oct. 25, 1833. He wrote Theodicece (part 1-10, Leipsic, 1823).
