Bell, John (1),

an English Wesleyan minister, of Episcopal parents, was born at Hull, Oct. 19, 1788. He united with the Church at the age of fourteen, and was received as a probationer in 1811; he was sent to Newfoundland in 1816, and labored in St. John's, island Cove, and Harbor Grace; returned to England in 1823; became a supernumerary in 1851, and died after much affliction, Oct. 26, 1855.
