Baudart, Wilhelm
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a Protestant theologian of Holland, was born at 1564 at Deinse, a small village of Flanders. He studied at Emden, and was at first pastor at Sneck, then at Zutphen, where he died in 1640. He was commissioned by. the Synod of Dort, with Bucer and Bogerman, to prepare a new translation of the Old Test. This appeared under the title, Gendenzkwdardige Geschiedenissen go kerkelijke ols mereldlijke, etc. (Arnheim, 1624). He also published a collection of sentences entitled, Apophthegmata Christiana (Amst. 1657): — Polemographia Auraico-Belgica (ibid. 1622). This work was published in France under the title, Description des Sieges, Batailles, Rencontres, etc., durant les Guerres des Pays-Bas ou de Nassau (ibid. 1616). .See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog.
