Balthasar, Augustin (1),
a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born at Anklam, in Pomerania, Sept. 23, 1632. He studied at Wittenberg, and died Nov. 20, 1688, as doctor and professor of theology at Greifswalde, where he also presided at the consistory as general superintendent of Pomerania. He wrote, De Prisca Haeresi Nicolaitarum: — De Justfiicatione Hominis Peccatoris coram Deo: — Disputationes de Aquis Supracelestibus.
