a Baptist minister, was born in or near Sandisfield, Mass., in 1758. In early life he became a member of the Second Church in Sandisfield, by which Church he was licensed, and was ordained its pastor June 9, 1790. This was his only pastorate, and continued without interruption .for twenty years, his death, which was caused by an apoplectic fit, taking place July 24, 1810. "He left behind him the character of an able, faithful, and successful preacher of the Gospel; beloved by his own flock, respected by all who knew him. and greatly lamented in his death." See Rev. J.
