Athanasius (Junior)

or CELETES, surnamed HERNIOSUS, was bishop of Alexandria from about A.D. 490 to 497, and was esteemed a good Biblical scholar, an active bishop, and a devout man. He is supposed to be the author of several works ascribed to Athanasius the Great, particularly the Sacrae Scripturae Synopsis; Quaestiones et Responsiones ad Antiochunm; two tracts, De Incarnatione Verbi Dei; Syntagnma Doctrinsa ad Clericos et Laicos; de Virginitate sive Ascesi.
