was an English Congregational missionary to South Africa for more than half a century. He arrived at the Cape of Good Hope in September, 1800, with the late Rev. James Read of the Kat River Settlement. Mr. Anderson commenced the Griqua Mission in 1801, and formed the station in Griqua Town in 1804. He remained in this position for sixteen years, and then (1820) removed to the Caledon Institution. Subsequently he was removed to Pacaltsdorp, where he continued to labor honorably and successfully for thirty years. His age at death is not known, but he must have verged on eighty years.
