a Presbyterian minister, was born in Chester County, Pa., July 31,1822. He was educated at the Presbyterian High-school of Philadelphia. He studied theology in the Ashmore Institute, Oxford, Pa. He was ordained by the New Castle Presbytery in 1859, and sailed for Africa as a missionary in 1860. His health failed, and he returned to America in 1863. He died at Reading, Pa., Nov. 17, 1864.
