was born at Blois, France, and was a nephew of Roger, bishop of Salisbury, who secured for him the bishopric of Lincoln, to which he was consecrated July 22, 1123. He rebuilt (in 1124) the greater part of the cathedral, which had been nearly destroyed by fire. Ini 1142 he went to Rome, and returned invested with legatine authority. He also visited Rome in 1144, and in August, 1147, made a journey into France to see the pope, then residing there, but fell sick, and, setting out for home, died soon after his return. See Biog.
