Agoult, Charles Constance Cesar Loi. P Joseph Matthiei D
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a French prelate, was born near Grenoble in 1747. He finished his studies at the Seminary of St. Sulpice at Paris, and was appointed bishop of Pamiers in 1787. He emigrated during the Revolution, and returned to France in 1801, after having resigned his. bishopric.' He studied especially the sciences of commerce and of finance. He died at Paris, July 21, 1824. - He wrote, Projet d'une Banque Nationale (Paris, 1815): — Eclaircissement sur le Projet d'une Banque Nationale, etc. (ibid. 1816): — Des Imnpots Indirects et des Droits de Consommation, ou Essai sur l'Origine et le Systeme des Impositions Frangaises (ibid. 1817): — Lettre a un Jacobin, ou Reflexions Politiques sur la Constitution d'Angleterre et la Charte Royale, etc. (ibid. 1815):Conversation avec EI.
