a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born at Newtonbrook, Canada, Feb. 10, 1843. He received an academical education; experienced religion at the age of seventeen; soon began preaching; about 1864. removed to New York State, and in 1873 was received into the Western New York Conference, wherein he labored until his death, at Kendall, Feb. 9, 1878.
