a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born Oct. 30, 1685, at Nieder- Wiese, in Upper Lusatia. He studied at Leipsic; was in 1720 appointed pastor at Gross-Hennersdorf, near Zittau; in 1726 deacon at Hirschberg; and in- 1737 archdeacon there. He died Aug. 1, 1745, while in his pulpit. struck by. lightning. He wrote, Dis.puatio de Psalmnis Filiorum Korah (Lips. 1706).He is also the author of a number of hymns.
